When I was a child all seven of us where packed into the back of the car (it was the 80’s) and we headed off ,caravan in tow, to the Wexford coast for our Summer holidays. This seascape painting evokes Summer holidays for me full of childhood nostalgia. It brings back memories of the feel of wet sand between my toes, climbing on slippery rocks searching for crabs in the rock pools. I can feel the warmth of the ochre sand and the clouds are like fluffy candy floss in blush pink and lavender. I can feel the icy cold water gently lapping against my ankles and the distant sound of children playing and digging holes in the sand.

This Summer I spent my holiday on our beautiful Irish beaches and not much has changed.
