Recently I met up with a couple of childhood friends for a long awaited catch up. We had a picnic by the river in Inistioge. The day was cloudy but we didn’t care, out came the flasks, sandwiches , cake and buns. We chatted away for hours, long after the tea had gone cold. It felt so good to catch up with each other, life goes by so quickly it is sometimes hard to find the time for our friends, especially this year with all the restrictions. I came away feeling so much happier in my heart.

I imagine these two chickens to be great friends, always hanging out together having the chats. One is filling the other in on all the goss , while the other one is slowly digesting the news and trying to make her own mind up on the situation.

I have a print of this painting in my own kitchen and it reminds me of my friends and the importance of friendship.
